Join us for St. George's 75th anniversary planning meeting today during coffee hour at 11:45 a.m. in Kleberg Hall. This is the time to offer assistance to make 2025 a year to remember in the life of the church we love.

We start the evening with a shared salad bar meal, then discuss a reading from our book, A Journey with Luke, and conclude with the liturgy of Compline. Help us celebrate birthdays at St. George’s Court, our affordable housing ministry for senior adults and people with disabilities. Join us on a first Saturday — February 1, March 1, and/or April 5 — from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Court’s Community room for a light lunch and fellowship with residents. Sign up to bring cake, sandwiches, a fruit or veggie tray, lemonade, a fun activity or just yourself and/or your family by emailing andreagalsparks@gmail.com.

The next sew-in will be on Sunday, Oct. 6 after the 10:30 am service in Kleberg Hall. You don't have to be able to sew to be able to help! We will need sewing machines, irons and ironing boards, related accessories like yard sticks, and many willing hands. Please plan to attend! It's a wonderful community time as well as a deeply valued service, and we should be finished by 2pm. Lunch will be served.

We Are Blood returns to St. George’s after church on Sunday, Sept. 29 for our second blood drive. The Mobile Donation Unit (aka, the big bus) will be conveniently located in the Kleberg Hall parking lot from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. You simply sign up and show up! This week’s (April 7) topic of discussion: Church History
Saint George is thought to have been born into a noble Christian family in the late third century in what is now modern-day Turkey. As a soldier and officer in the Roman army, he refused to denounce his faith and persecute fellow Christians, leading to his martyrdom in 303 AD. Legend has told that Saint George slew a dragon to save a princess, the King’s daughter. Join us as we celebrate this Sain on Sunday, April 28.
Our entire community is invited to SAFE to bless Eloise House and the recently-completed comfort bags. We are thrilled and honored by this invitation and hope many can attend. Both blessings will involve the laying on of hands, and our congregation will be joined by the staff and nurse advocates at SAFE as we unite to bless this sacred work. We will depart for SAFE immediately following the service, in lieu of coffee hour. People can carpool or go on their own. The address is 1515 Grove, and exact directions for parking and location on the SAFE campus will be provided that morning.
